Ellie Rizor, ARNP
Board Certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Ellie Rizor, ARNP is a board-certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She has training and experience in mental health spanning all age groups. Ellie specializes in supporting children, adolescents, and young adults with special interests in attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism, depression, and anxiety disorders such as generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Ellie believes in advocating for her clients’ academic success and has an understanding of the impact mental health can have on educational experiences. She has an appreciation of the many benefits medication can play in improving well-being. She also recognizes the need for close management of medication to achieve therapeutic benefits while minimizing side effects. Ellie’s philosophy of practice is client- and family-centered care. She works with clients and their families to ensure a holistic approach to mental health management.
Ellie is a native Iowan and is proud and excited to be practicing within her home state. Ellie spends much of her free time with her beagle, Chief. She also enjoys spending time with friends and family, cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, and playing the guitar and piano.
Ellie received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Mount Mercy University before earning her Doctorate in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing Practice from the University of Minnesota. Ellie joined Magnolia Connection in January 2024.
