Lisa Pearson, LISW (she/her/hers)
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
I enjoy working with clients ranging from 2 years old through young adulthood. I address a variety of issues including attachment, behavior concerns, parent coaching, trauma processing, mental health symptom management, and uncovering and enhancing individual strengths. I employ a trauma-focused and client-centered approach in my practice.
I specialize in several evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including methods like Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Parent-Child Care (PC-Care), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa (GoHawks!) in 2007. After completing my studies, I moved to Davis, California, where I became involved in research focused on how infants process information. In 2012, I received my Master’s in Social Work from California State University, San Bernardino. During my time in Southern California, I worked extensively in child welfare, with a primary focus on helping families through the adoption process.
In 2017, I returned to Iowa to be closer to family while raising my children. Since returning, I have provided mental health therapy and crisis stabilization services through local non-profits. I joined Magnolia Connection in September 2024.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, children, and our new puppy. I am often found driving my kids to various sports and activities, including baseball, basketball, soccer, dance, and gymnastics. I also enjoy hiking, bike rides, yoga, exploring new parks, baking, traveling, and attending live music events.
