Heather Soyer, PsyD (she/her/hers)
Founder & Licensed Pediatric Psychologist
I am passionate about supporting children and adolescents. As a licensed pediatric psychologist, a critical aspect of my practice is illuminating areas of strength to build upon. Since 2012, I have worked closely with parents and clients to ensure accurate testing results. I design care plans from a strengths-based perspective first, rather than focusing on challenges. I also enjoy providing consultation services around parenting challenges.
On a mission to change the face of mental health, increase local access, and offer education to the community, I founded Magnolia Connection in 2021. With the goal of offering evidence-based and quality mental health care as part of everyday health care, Magnolia Connection is a place where children and families can connect, heal, and grow together.
As parents to three amazing children, my husband and I understand the challenges and obstacles that arise during the parenting journey. Add two dogs into the mix, and life is rarely dull! I also enjoy yoga, spending time outdoors, and singing with my church’s worship team.
I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Iowa and my doctorate in clinical psychology at Nova Southeastern University in Florida. I then rounded out my training across the country at UCLA, the Medical College of Wisconsin, and the Children’s Hospital of Minnesota. Returning to Iowa in 2012, I joined the staff at Blank Children’s Hospital before starting my own practice, Magnolia Connection.
I enjoy collaborating with other mental health professionals, including consultation and training, so please reach out if I can be of help. I provide services in the Norwalk office.
