Ellie Rizor, ARNP (she/her/hers)
Board Certified Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
I am a board-certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I have training and experience in mental health spanning all age groups. I specialize in supporting children, adolescents, and young adults with special interests in attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism, depression, and anxiety disorders such as generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
I believe in advocating for my clients’ academic success and understand the impact mental health can have on educational experiences. I appreciate the many benefits medication can play in improving well-being and recognize the need for close management of medication to achieve therapeutic benefits while minimizing side effects. My philosophy of practice is client- and family-centered care. I work with clients and their families to ensure a holistic approach to mental health management.
I am a native Iowan and am proud and excited to be practicing within my home state. I spend much of my free time with my beagle, Chief. I also enjoy spending time with friends and family, cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, and playing the guitar and piano.
I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Mount Mercy University before earning my Doctorate in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing Practice from the University of Minnesota. I joined Magnolia Connection in January 2024 and provide services throughout Iowa via telehealth and in the Norwalk office.
